Expert Skilled Nursing Respite Care: Providing short-term compassionate, supportive and professional care to those in need.
Skilled nursing Respite care is a short-term, temporary stay at a Covenant Living skilled care community. This level of care allows customers family or loved ones who are often primary caregivers to take a break from providing daily care. Respite care is provided by licensed clinical and healthcare professionals. Skilled nursing respite care ensures that the care recipient continues to receive high-quality assistance, medical attention, and specialized support during a caregiver’s absence.
Benefits for Caregivers
Skilled nursing respite offer caregivers a vital opportunity to recharge and attend to their own wellbeing. By entrusting their loved ones to trained professionals, caregivers can temporarily step back from the demands of caregiving, reducing stress and preventing burnout.
This break allows caregivers to focus on their physical and mental health, engage in activities they enjoy and maintain important social connections. This essential support not only enhances the overall caregiving experience but also strengthens the caregiver’s ability to provide sustained and compassionate care in the long run.
Skilled Nursing Respite includes:
- 24-hour skilled nursing care
- Three daily meals, snacks, specialized diets, and dietician support
- Social Services consults and support
- Room and board
- Out-patient therapies (with a doctor’s order)
- Daily scheduled activities and spiritual ministries

Here are a few simple tips:
• Wear lightweight clothing that covers arms and legs
• Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply often
• Avoid peak sun hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) when possible
• Don’t forget sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat
